Countries like the UK, Argentina, and South Africa have successfully implemented sodium targets for packaged foods, collaborating with manufacturers to reformulate products and reduce sodium levels. These proactive measures have effectively decreased sodium intake across the population.

The WHO encourages countries to adopt similar strategies, including slashing sodium intake by 30% by 2025. For India, implementing such policies is crucial to protect public health and alleviate the burden of cardiovascular and kidney disease.
