DS Automobiles Arrives in Czech Republic with DS 4 and DS 8

Two DS brands have launched in teh Czech market: the innovative DS 4 (formerly DS4) and the flagship DS 8, notably the vehicle of choice for french President Emmanuel Macron. The Czech depiction expressed surprise at the availability of a diesel engine for the DS 4, stating, “It was clearly the best-selling engine, we welcome it.”

DS Automobiles caters to those seeking a unique and uncommon car. The brand acknowledges the perception of being a more ornate Citroën, but emphasizes its distinct identity.

“DS Automobiles is the only French brand in the premium segment and the only premium brand within the Stellantis concern,” explains Martina Bedrnová, head of czech representation, adding that modern DS models prioritize elegance and avant-garde design.

The DS 8 exemplifies this commitment, representing the tradition of French luxury and meticulous craftsmanship.

Alongside the DS 8, the brand introduces the DS 4, a compact hatchback offering a diverse range of powertrains – including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric options.

Surprisingly, the DS 4 will also be available with a traditional 1.5-liter diesel engine, a feature not initially announced. The head of the Czech representation noted, “And it surprised us itself, but after the New Year, N° 4 with a diesel, a traditional fifteen hundred, which had the previous DS4.”
