Using electrical impulses to achieve smoother skin?Facelift devices for at home in check! The result also surprises our expert

Doesn’t that hurt?
So-called microcurrent facelifters use small electrical pulses to make the skin firmer. We tested such devices for ten weeks. Even our expert is surprised by the result.
Facelift devices are available in drugstores for just 20 euros
Facelift devices for use at home use small electrical impulses to activate the facial muscles and thus ensure a smoother skin appearance.
This is new territory for Margarete and Gabriela. Above all, Margarete wants firmer skin and a fresher overall impression. Gabriela hopes that wrinkles will be reduced and her facial contours will appear clearer again.

Margarete tests a device from the drugstore for around 20 euros, Gabriela tests a more expensive version for around 53 euros. At first glance, the devices hardly differ. The cheaper model has five intensity levels including a heat function, the branded device offers three modes, each with three intensity levels.
Important: Both devices require a conductive moisturizing gel to be applied before use. The intensity is then carefully increased.
Skin check after ten weeks! What is the result?
The microcurrent is not painful. The electrical impulses under the skin cause small muscle activations. If the muscles are strengthened, they can gain some volume – the skin above appears smoothed.
In order to make possible changes measurable, the two friends initially have a skin analysis carried out. This is repeated after ten weeks. In the meantime, they use the devices regularly at home – a few minutes per application, depending on time and personal preference.
From a dermatological point of view, the microcurrent devices are considered harmless. In addition, they can help care products such as serums to penetrate the skin better.
After ten weeks, another appointment at the dermatologist’s office follows. What the skin analysis shows and what dermatologist Dr. Simone Vogel is surprised, you can see in the video!
