Istanbul, Turkey – Fenerbahçe Istanbul have announced teh appointment of Italian-german coach Domenico Tedesco as their new manager, replacing josé Mourinho. The move comes after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League group stage, falling to Benfica Lisbon in the playoff round.
Fenerbahçe, who finished second in the Turkish Süper lig last season behind Galatasaray, entered Champions League qualifying but where unable to overcome Benfica, drawing 0-0 in the first leg and losing 1-0 in the return match.
