Florida Veterans Gain Continued Access to Essential Dental Care

Program to Continue Through 2026, Supported by State Funding

TALLAHASSEE – florida’s commitment to its veteran population is reinforced with the ongoing support of the Veterans Dental Program. The Florida Veterans Foundation (FVF) has confirmed the program will continue into 2026, following a recent renewal of financial backing from the Florida Legislature and the endorsement of Governor Ron DeSantis. this sustained funding ensures that crucial dental services remain accessible to eligible veterans throughout the state.

Bridging the Gap in Veteran Dental Healthcare

The Veterans dental Program operates by collaborating with a carefully selected network of 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. These partners will deliver a complete spectrum of dental treatments to veterans who qualify. Recognizing that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs doesn’t fully encompass all dental care needs, this program specifically targets the existing gap in services, prioritizing the oral health – and by extension, the overall well-being – of Florida’s veteran community.According to recent data from the Health Policy Institute, over 20% of veterans report experiencing challenges accessing adequate dental care [[3]].

“The Foundation is deeply proud to extend this vital program, directly enhancing the lives of countless Florida veterans,” stated Dr. Pia S. Woodley, DBA, Chair of the Florida Veterans Foundation. “Our unwavering dedication is to guarantee that every eligible veteran receives the dental care they deserve, leading to improved health and a better quality of life.”
