TEHRAN – The Iranian and British ambassadors to Iraq met in Baghdad on Thursday to discuss the growing tensions in West Asia, fueled by over a year of Israeli violence.

Iran’s ambassador to Baghdad,Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadeq, welcomed his British counterpart, Stephen Charles Hitchen. The two diplomats aimed to explore potential avenues for cooperation and dialogue between their countries to promote peace and stability in the region.

Al-Sadeq Raises Concerns About Israeli Violence

During the meeting, Al-Sadeq voiced deep concern over the ongoing violence and aggression perpetrated by the Israeli regime. He warned that unchecked actions could lead to a wider conflict if Western nations fail to rein in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Al-Sadeq also condemned Western countries’ arms supply to Israel, arguing it contradicts their stated commitment to human rights, peace, and stability in West Asia.

The Iranian ambassador reiterated Iran’s desire for peace and stability in the region. However, he also explicitly stated that Iran would defend itself against any acts of aggression, referencing the recent Israeli airstrikes on Iranian military installations on October 26.
