Trump’s Second State Visit to the UK Met with Ceremony and Protest

London, 17 September 2025Donald Trump is undertaking his second state visit to the United Kingdom. The US president, accompanied by First Lady melania, arrived at Londra Stansted last night and was received at Windsor Castle around 1pm Italian time by King Charles III (described by the tycoon as “a longtime friend”) and Queen Camilla.

A solemn ceremony unfolded, featuring a red carpet, fanfare, and a military parade. The presidential couple travelled with the sovereign in the Scottish State Coach, distinguished by its decorated golden roof. Following closely in a semi-stated Landau were Prince William and Kate Middleton, alongside US Ambassador Warren stephens and his wife Harriet.Two further Ascot Landau carriages carried US Secretary of state Marco Rubio,Secretary of the American treasury Scott Beesent,Trump’s foreign correspondent Steve Witkoff,his head of cabinet susie Wiles,and other White House staff.

Security Measures and Windsor Protests

A maximum security apparatus is in place to prevent close contact with the public, given announced protests, notably from the ‘Stop trump Coalition’ – an alliance of 50 unions and beneficial organizations. They are scheduled to demonstrate in London, marching to Parliament Square for a rally promoting “an alternative and democratic vision of the world, based on peace, social justice and international cooperation.” London’s Labor mayor, Sadiq Khan, has also been critical, telling The Guardian that the tycoon “blows on the fire of the far right.”

simultaneously occurring, four anti-Trump protesters were arrested in Windsor last night for “welcoming” the American president by projecting images of Trump alongside convicted sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein onto the castle walls.

Trump Visits Windsor Castle, Meets with King Charles and Prime Minister Starmer

Donald Trump is currently enjoying a state visit to Windsor Castle, marked by pomp and ceremony. He and First Lady Jill Biden arrived by helicopter and were greeted by Prince William and his wife, Kate. The presidential couple then joined King Charles in a carriage procession to the castle.

the day includes an official lunch, followed by a visit to St. George’s Chapel where Trump is expected to lay a wreath on the tomb of Queen Elizabeth II. The queen had previously hosted Trump at Buckingham Palace during his first state visit in 2019.

Later this afternoon,the President and First Lady will join King Charles and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer for a military flypast featuring both British and American fighter planes. The day will conclude with a lavish State Banquet held in the castle’s grand ballroom.
