She recently shared a heartbreaking account of a dream she experienced, in which her father, 32-year-old Mohamad Azim Izat Ishak, appeared to her. According to Putri Qisya, her father conveyed a message of peace and requested she not succumb to grief, stating he could onyl watch over her from a distance.
“My dad told me not to be sad, or he wouldn’t find rest,” Putri Qisya recounted to reporters, her words echoing the profound sorrow felt across the nation. She awoke to the news that the family car had been located, and tragically, all within had perished.
The family – including a nine-month-old infant – was traveling home on Friday when they were reported missing the following day. The vehicle was ultimately discovered submerged in the Korok River near Jitra district, positioned alarmingly close to the bank, approximately one meter away. The river’s depth at that location is estimated to be seven meters (roughly 22 feet).
Initial reports from Ahmad Aminuddin Abd Rahim, a senior officer with the fire and rescue department, indicate that public sightings prompted the emergency response. Rescue teams were forced to forcibly enter the vehicle, breaking windows and cutting thru the roof to access the victims. The positioning of the bodies, all found clustered in the backseat, suggests a desperate attempt by the family to escape through the rear window.
The scene at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar was one of quiet devastation as Putri Qisya spoke to the press, displaying a remarkable composure in the face of unimaginable loss.
