Koenders Prepares for dijon’s Municipal Election

In the 2020 municipal elections, François Rebsamen ran with a list called “Dijon is Capital,” featuring 59 candidates. A significant 60% – 36 people – were new to politics. The team aimed for broad representation, including 27 socialists,9 from MoDem,and members from various left-leaning parties like the Radical Left,CAP21,the Union of Democrats and Ecologists, and the Valois Radical Party. They also included one Chevènementiste, one communist, and 14 individuals from civil society with backgrounds in health, the surroundings, sports, and the social economy. The list boasted an average age of 51, ranging from 21 to 79, hoping to balance fresh perspectives with experience.

What Will Nathalie Koenders’ List Look Like?

The question of what Nathalie Koenders’ list will look like is now a central topic in Dijon’s political discussions. While Koenders hasn’t officially announced her candidacy, several clues suggest what her team might entail. It appears some current majority members are unlikely to rejoin the ticket, either by choice or due to the need for political balance.

For weeks, Koenders and her team have been working to build a list that’s both cohesive and representative. They’re trying to maintain unity while also bringing in new faces. It’s a challenging task; a municipal list can only hold 59 names, making each position crucial. The decisions ahead will be key to forming alliances and defining the candidate’s political priorities.

Several Departures Expected

Sources within the current municipal team indicate that several elected officials might not seek re-election. Christophe Berthier, currently the 9th deputy in charge of personnel, social dialog, fraternity, fighting discrimination, and secularism,is reportedly among those not expected to be reappointed.
