Indonesia Reaffirms Support for Palestinian State During Egypt Visit

resident Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday reiterated Indonesia’s ironclad support for a Palestinian state alongside his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, insisting on the two-state solution as the only possible resolution of the prolonged Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The commitment came just one day ahead of the eight-way talks among major Islamic countries projected to discuss ways to end the Israeli onslaught on Gaza.

It is the first Indonesian state visit to Egypt in over a decade, and Prabowo’s entourage has also convened with several Egyptian ministers to discuss a slew of issues ranging from scientific cooperation and bilateral trade, to the latest geopolitical developments in the Middle East.
