Jakarta Protests Demand Governance Reform
Jakarta, CNN Indonesia — The wave of demonstrations in Jakarta and a number of regions in the past week formulated a number of demands to the government related to improving bureaucratic governance and law enforcement.
Initially, the presentation was held in front of the parliamentary complex on August 25 by students and students. The action led to chaos, after the police dissolved the student action since around 14.00 WIB.
Afterwards, the marathon action was held again on August 28-31. In Jakarta, the action expanded at three points, namely in the DPR, Polda Metro Jaya, and Mako Brimob Kwitang, Senen, Central jakarta.

The widespread wave of action followed the death of Affan Kurniawan (21), an ojol driver who was killed by Rantis Brimob’s car during the action in Jakarta on August 28. The action then also extended to a number of provinces and other major cities throughout Indonesia, such as bandung, Surabaya, Makassar, to Medan.
The Civil Coalition released a list of demands on the series of demonstrations. The demand contains the pressure so that the government and the Parliament promptly make improvements even to the reform of government governance.
