HSBC Indonesia Monitors Impact of Government’s Budget Policy
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – HSBC Indonesia, a foreign bank operating in Indonesia, is watching how the government’s policy of placing extra budget money (SAL) in banks is working.
Lanny Hendra, Director of Wealth and Personal Banking at HSBC Indonesia, said the affect of these funds entering the banking system – specifically banks that are part of the state-owned bank association (Himbara) – isn’t promptly clear.
“We continue to monitor that. There are a lot of new policies, and I think it will take time to see the results of what the government wants to achieve. Nothing happens instantly; it takes time to see how these policies progress,” she said after the opening of the HSBC Wealth Center in Central Jakarta on tuesday, October 21, 2025.
