The Ministry of Defense in cooperation with the US company “SpaceX” managed to disable the illegal “Starlink” terminals, according to a statement from the headquarters.

“With their help, the army of the aggressor country organized communication for army units and kamikaze drones, which caused significant damage in the rear,” the headquarters says.

“Looking for a way out of the difficult situation, the occupiers turned to the families of the captives. There have been recorded cases of threats and requests to officially register Starlink terminals in their own names,” the statement said.

“When officially registering the enemy’s terminal, it is easy to identify the person who did it, because during this process you have to prove your identity. The enemy takes advantage of the vulnerability of families. The fate of Ukrainians is indifferent to them – it is a disposable resource for them,” the headquarters representatives explain.

“In case the terminal is used to control drones that destroy infrastructure and steal lives, the fact that the terminal is registered by a Ukrainian citizen is the basis for criminal liability,” warns the headquarters.

If offers or threats to register terminals in one’s name or any other form of blackmail are received, residents should contact the coordination headquarters and security structures.

The first “Starlink” terminals began to appear in the Russian army in the second half of 2023.

These are mostly “grey” terminals bought and smuggled in from third countries.

At the beginning of February, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine agreed with “SpaceX” to disable the illegal terminals.
