This week’s Feature Artist has already supported Griff and Beth McCarthy on tour! 

Living up to all the hype online too, she’s clocked up plenty of traction on social media… all for good reason! It’s time for you to meet… 

She’s the Gold Coast based singer/songwriter and producer who’s inspired by big pop girlies like Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams, Gretta Ray and Charley.

Winning our triple j Unearthed Bigsound competition in 2024, she took to stage on home turf and captivated the hearts of punters at the conference… so much so, she took out the Bigsound people’s choice award!

Not only this, she jumped on tour with UK pop sweetheart Griff at The Princess Theatre and Beth McCarthy at The Brightside in 2024 too. 

So where on earth did she come from? What is her story? 

Great questions! 

Lyric began writing songs from about seven years old and begun producing her own music towards the end of high school. 

In January of 2024, she released her TikTok viral single, ‘Gravity’, which surpassed 700K streams after amassing over four million views across socials.

From this point on, she’s “started to use social media as a tool to reach people all around the world”.

And it really is paying off! 

Creating sad girlie pop (“which is slowly getting happier”), she entrances audiences with her relatable lyricism and innovative production quality.

Influenced by some of the most skilled producers and musicians of the modern era, she mentions how FINNEAS has been a great pillar of inspiration. 

“I’ve learnt so much from him. I’d watch hours and hours of videos about him producing Billie’s and his own songs.”

And above all Taylor Swift has been a key player in forming her importance on songwriting. 

“I love going in depth with lyrics of my personal experiences, films, books or TV shows I’ve watched and felt connected to, also friends’ experiences as well. I love opening my perspectives and writing about other people’s experiences as you go outside the box of what you’ve experienced, it gives a lot more to think about.”

“I’m very much a fangirl myself so I know the whole experience”

No stranger to running a fan page and chat group or even commenting on her favourite artists’ posts, she “knows the ways to tap into [her] fandom”. 

Prioritising two way communication, she always makes a point of responding to messages and meeting everyone after her shows. 

“My fans are so sweet and kind. There are group chats and we’ve just started a discord where we all talk to each other. It’s just such a cool, lovely group that we’re fostering, it’s really awesome!” 

In the spirit of touring, she’s just wrapped up a pretty special run of shows in celebration of her debut EP Nostalgia… her debut headline east coast tour!

Selling out venues across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne (the latter two of which she had never performed in before), there was a lot of love and big singalongs on tour!

Equipping her with a greater sense of confidence regarding her own performance ability and crowd support, moving forward she’s keen to prioritise “more headline shows” in future.
