# Total War: Warhammer III – Tides of Torment DLC Review: A Strategic Overhaul

Jakarta: Even though Creative Assembly has announced a new direction for the next *Total War* series, the arrival of the *Tides of Torment* DLC in early December 2025 proves they are still paying attention to *Warhammer III*. Featuring three new Legendary Lords-Sea Lord Aislinn (High Elves), Dechala the Denied One (Slaanesh), and Sayl the Faithless (Norsca)-this expansion promises a massive strategic overhaul. This is our experiance after trying it.

The main star of the Chaos side is Dechala the Denied One. The developer succeeded in translating Dechala’s horror and elegance into aggressive gameplay. His campaign starting in Hidden Landing (Hinterlands of Cathay) provides a fresh feel, moving Slaanesh away from the usual Ulthuan Bowl.Mechanically, dechala introduces a parasitic economic system.Players will have to choose between building thrall Camps (high resources but will run out over time) or Tormentor’s Holds (military base). This forces players to continue to expand aggressively; you can’t play defensively because the economy will collapse if you stop conquering.

In terms of roster, the addition of Devotees of Slaanesh (crossbows) is very interesting. For the first time, Slaanesh has solid ranged options, enabling previously impossible skirmish tactics. Dechala’s own visuals, with his serpentine shape and multiple arms, are beautifully executed, creating one of the most unique character models in the game.

Sayl the Faithless brought Norsca out of the shadows of the Empire/Kislev. Set in Mountain’s End, Sayl offers a playstyle that focuses on magic and underhanded diplomacy through the Manipulations system.

This mechanic allows Sayl to cripple an enemy’s economy, force other factions to fight each other, and even incite rebellions. It’s a powerful tool for those who prefer to win through intrigue rather than brute force.
