This year, the catch has been significantly reduced. During a recent outing at Stelly’s pond, only four sacks were filled with crawfish. In contrast, a good year would yield 25 to 30 sacks. This decrease in output is especially concerning during Lent, as the boiling of live crawfish is a well-known tradition in this predominantly Catholic area.
