At the close of a month and a half of ukrainian warthe Russian Ministry of Defense today claimed to have frustrated a terrorist attack with five launched drones by Ukraine against New Moscow, administrative district of the Russian capital, and the Moscow region.
All four drones were destroyed on the territory of New Moscow by anti-aircraft defense systems, and the fifth UAV was intercepted using electronic warfare and crashed in the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region. There have been no casualties or property damage.
The Ministry of Defense did not mention in its statement the suppression of another drone in the Kaluga regionsouthwest of the Russian capital, as the Russian emergency services had previously indicated to the official TASS agency.
He Moscow’s Vnukovo airport resumed operations after aircraft landings and takeoffs were restricted by the attack.
Russian cities have been attacked by drones throughout Moscow’s offensive in Ukraine and these actions have intensified in recent months. So far in the conflict, Moscow and its surroundings, some 500 km from the border with Ukraine, have registered few attacks.
