Wuling Darion Gains Traction in Indonesia, Set for Export to Brunei and Hong Kong

Jakarta – Wuling Motors is experiencing significant success with its Darion model in Indonesia, with sales exceeding 4,000 units since its launch. The popularity of the environmentally friendly MPV, manufactured at Wuling’s Cikarang plant in West Java, has led to plans for export to Brunei Darussalam and Hong Kong.

Strong Domestic Performance

Wuling Darion demonstrated strong performance at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), contributing over 30% to test drive activities, with more than 50% of attendees participating in test drives . Sales figures for January and February 2026 reveal a total of 1,975 units sold, comprising 1,806 EV (pure electric) variants and 166 PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) variants.

In 2025, the Darion recorded total sales of 1,938 units, with 1,706 EV models and 232 PHEV models sold.

Expansion into Recent Markets

Ricky Christian, Marketing Director of Wuling Motors, announced the company’s intention to export the Darion to Brunei Darussalam and Hong Kong . This expansion signifies a growing demand for the vehicle beyond the Indonesian market.

Darion at IIMS 2026

Wuling showcased the Darion, alongside its complete product lineup, at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026, held at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta . The company similarly presented a collaborative project with the National Modificator & Aftermarket Association (NMAA), featuring a Darion customized under the ‘daily use dress-up’ concept . This personalized version emphasizes minimalist design and functionality.

The ‘daily use dress-up’ concept incorporates modifications designed for comfort, suitability for various road conditions, and ease of operation . Modifications include 17-inch Enkei ES Tarmac rims, maintaining the original tire size for optimal driving comfort and suspension performance .
