Xiaomi 17 Pro: A Potential iPhone 17 Challenger?
Jakarta, CNN Indonesia – Leaks of the Xiaomi 17 Pro are circulating on social media, with images adn videos showcasing the latest HP design from China, which bears a resemblance to the iPhone 17 but boasts more sophisticated features. Is it ready to challenge the iPhone 17?
Xiaomi plans to release this phone on September 19, 2025, in China, coinciding with the first day of iPhone 17 sales. This suggests a direct challenge to Apple’s dominance, notably in the Chinese market.
Xiaomi President Lu Weibing, in a Weibo post, stated that this phone represents the biggest leap in the history of their numeric series.
“The Xiaomi 17 series represents five years of evolution towards premium quality, accompanied by strategic adjustments for the numeric series. Each model experiences a generation of renewal,” Weibing said on Weibo on Monday (9/15).
The Xiaomi 17 line will be available in three variants: Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. These phones will be the first to utilize the fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 chipset.
The Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max series feature an innovative “Magic Back Screen.” More details will be revealed later this month.
According to Phone Arena on Thursday (18/9), one of the biggest surprises of the Xiaomi 17 Pro is the secondary screen on the back.
