Rhea Ripley Injured, NXT Angle Explains Absence
WWE superstar Rhea Ripley suffered a legitimate injury last week, requiring her to step away from in-ring competition for an undisclosed period. Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer confirmed the injury, revealing that Ripley sustained a fractured orbital bone, explaining why she’s been absent from recent shows.
NXT Angle Covers Real-Life Injury
WWE cleverly used an NXT storyline to address Ripley’s absence. On the October 29 episode, Ripley was brutally attacked in the parking lot by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, leaving a bloody mess. WWE officials later announced Ripley suffered a fractured right orbital socket and would be out indefinitely.
“She’s got a fractured orbital bone. So the injury that they announced is pretty much legit, yeah.
It happened last week…she hasn’t worked any house shows, so in probably the last TV angle that she did with Raquel is where it happened, most likely. And she is gonna be out for a while. I don’t know 100 percent that’s why she’s not on [Crown Jewel], because I did hear that match for the pay-per-view. But yeah, it happened last week, and then they did this thing as a cover to basically have a reason for her to be out of action.”

While Meltzer couldn’t confirm whether Ripley’s absence was directly related to Crown Jewel, it appears the angle served as a convenient explanation for her ongoing recovery.
Last Appearance Before Injury
Ripley’s last televised appearance prior to the angle was on the October 21 episode of Raw. The segment involved a brawl with Rodriguez and Morgan, culminating in Dominik Mysterio being trapped in Ripley’s signature Prism lock.
