Alwi Farhan’s Reaction
Despite the loss, the 2026 Indonesia Masters champion expressed gratitude for the experience and lessons learned. “First of all, I would like to thank God, even though I am not incredibly satisfied with my performance today,” Alwi stated, as reported by Liputan6. “Actually, from the start of the first game it was correct, but from the first interval Kunlavut changed pattern and I wasn’t able to anticipate it more quickly. That was my mistake.”
Alwi acknowledged Kunlavut’s strength and tenacity. “Kunlavut is a tenacious player, doesn’t die easily, is a strong player for now. That’s his capital to be able to reach the level he is at now. And I tried to fight things from there but I think I was a little less neat in terms of his shots.”
He also noted that this was his debut appearance at the All England Open, and he was pleased with the progress he had made in his training and preparation. “I have started to be able to fight against an opponent who lost twice yesterday, Chou Tien Chen, but I haven’t succeeded in Kunlavut,” he added.
