The BYD Atto 3 is set for a major refresh when it arrives in the 2025 model year. Leaked images point to a more dynamic exterior design, a suite of advanced safety features, and increased driving range.
BYD appears to be aiming for a sportier aesthetic with the redesigned Atto 3. The most noticeable changes are at the front, with a revised bumper, a larger trapezoidal air intake, and integrated camera that enhance the SUV’s aggressive looks. The headlights and grille largely retain their original shape, while out back, the rear bumper adopts a similar design language as the front, creating a cohesive look. The roof spoiler has also been updated, incorporating brake lights instead of a single light strip, and the dynamic turn signals feature a unique rope-knot design.
Adding to the customizable appeal, BYD will offer both 17-inch and 18-inch wheel options.
One of the most significant upgrades is the introduction of BYD’s “God’s Eye” Driving Assistance System. This advanced system utilizes a network of 29 sensors to provide unparalleled situational awareness. According to BYD, the updated SUV boasts ten high-speed navigation scenarios and six smart parking modes, promising a safer and more convenient driving experience.
The 2025 Atto 3 retains its 150 kW motor but introduces two battery options: a 49.92 kWh battery offering a CLTC driving range of up to 430 km and a larger 60.48 kWh battery extending the range to an impressive 510 km.
While the official launch date and pricing details remain under wraps, industry experts predict the 2025 BYD Atto 3 will debut in the second quarter of 2025 in the Chinese market, where it will be marketed as the Yuan Plus.
