Former Attorney General, Ex-KPK Leaders File Amicus Curiae in Nadiem’s Pretrial Hearing

Jakarta – As many as 12 figures have volunteered too express legal opinions in the form of amicus curiae – a “friend of the court” – in the pretrial hearing submitted by former Minister of Research and Technology Nadiem Anwar Makarim. These include former Attorney General Marzuki Darusman and former KPK (Corruption Eradication commission) leader Amien Sunaryadi.

The request was submitted during the inaugural session of Nadiem’s pretrial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court on Friday,October 3,2025. Researchers from the Judicial Independence (Leip) Study and Advocacy Institute and Clarity International, Natalia soebagjo, read the request in court.

“This amicus curiae is intended to provide input to the honorable presiding judge regarding critically important matters that should be examined in the pretrial process concerning the validity of the determination of someone as a suspect,” Arsil said.
