Indonesia National Police Announces Major Leadership Changes

Jakarta, Indonesia – February 28, 2026 – Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has announced a significant reshuffling of high-ranking and middle-ranking officers, impacting 54 personnel across the force. The changes, formalized in a police telegram (ST/440/II/KEP./2026) released on February 27, 2026, are intended to bolster career development, refresh the organization, and enhance performance and professionalism within the National Police.

Personnel Transfers and Latest Appointments

The reshuffle encompasses personnel in three categories: evaluation/demotion (3 personnel), promotions or equivalent shifts (44 personnel), and those entering retirement (7 personnel). Key appointments include:

  • Brigadier General Totok Suharyanto has been appointed as the Head of the National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kakortas Tipikor), replacing Inspector General Cahyono Wibowo, who is retiring.
  • Inspector General Daniel Tahi Monang Silitonga will assume the role of Governor of the Police Academy, succeeding Inspector General Midi Siswoko. Inspector General Midi Siswoko will transition to the position of Kasespim Lemdiklat Polri.

Addressing Performance and Discipline

The reshuffle also addresses performance and disciplinary issues. Commissioner Edy Setyanto Erning Wibowo, previously the Sleman Police Chief, has been transferred to a legal analyst role within the TK Middle Police III Divkum Polri following an internal review. Kombes Adhitya Panji Anom has been appointed as the new Sleman Police Chief.

AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro, former Bima City Police Chief, has been transferred to Pamen Yanma Polri after facing an ethics trial related to narcotics possession, resulting in a dishonorable discharge. AKBP Natalena Eko Cahyono, previously the Bungo Police Chief, has been reassigned to Pamen of the Jambi Regional Police, with AKBP Zamri Elfino taking over as Bungo Police Chief.

National Police Commitment to Organizational Improvement

According to Head of the National Police’s Public Relations Division, Johnny Eddizon Isir, the mutations are conducted objectively and are based on organizational needs. “This step is part of the National Police’s human resource management strategy to ensure the organization remains adaptive, solid and responsive to the challenges of future tasks,” Isir stated.

The National Police leadership expressed hope that the transferred officials will quickly adapt to their new roles and demonstrate dedication and integrity in serving the community.
