russian MiG-29 Fighter Jet Lands in Iran

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A Russian MIG-29 fighter jet has landed in Iran.This was reported by a member of the National Parliamentary Security Committee, Abolfazl Zohrevand, as quoted by newsweek on September 25, 2025.

Zohrevand stated the MiG-29 is a “short-term solution” while Tehran awaits a more sophisticated Sukhoi su-35 jet. This signals a broader effort too strengthen iran’s military capabilities.

“After this system is fully installed, our enemy will understand the language of strength,” Zohrevand told local media, emphasizing Tehran’s determination to project power as regional and global powers observe.

Following recent clashes with Israel, Zohrevand stressed that the MiG-29 jet is part of a larger effort to quickly bolster Iran’s air defenses. The aircraft serves as a temporary measure until the Su-35 arrives, although Moscow has not officially confirmed any deliveries.

“The Russian MiG-29 fighter jet has arrived in Iran and is stationed in Shiraz,” Zohrevand added.
