South Japek II Toll Road Opens to Ease Eid al-Fitr Homecoming Traffic

The South Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II toll road has begun operation to support the smooth flow of traffic during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming period. Approximately 52 kilometers of the toll road are now functional, offering an alternative route for travelers and aiming to reduce congestion on the main Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Corridor and the MBZ Flyover.

Alternative Route Details

The functional toll road is open to Group I vehicles traveling from Bandung to Jakarta. The operational sections include:

  • Section 3: Setu-Sukaragam (7.75 kilometers)
  • Section 4: Sukaragam-Sukabungah (13.00 kilometers)
  • Section 5: Sukabungah-Kutanegara (22.75 kilometers)
  • Section 6: Kutanegara-Sadang (8.50 kilometers)

Toll Waivers During Eid Return

Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad will waive toll fees on the Japek II South toll road during the 2026 Eid return journey. This decision aims to alleviate congestion by providing a free alternative route from Sadang to Japek South.

Operational Considerations

While technically ready for 24-hour operation as of March 15, 2026, the opening of Japek II South is subject to police discretion based on traffic conditions. The route will be opened if significant congestion occurs at KM 66 towards Jakarta or at the Cikampek Utama toll gate.

User Experiences

Early users have reported positive experiences with the novel route. One traveler heading from Bandung to Parung Panjang, Bogor Regency, noted a smoother journey and reduced travel time by avoiding congestion on the main line. Another user traveling to South Tangerang found the route provided a more controlled travel option, even in its functional stage.

Safety Reminders

Road users utilizing the functional section are urged to remain vigilant, obey signage, and follow the instructions of on-site officers.

Additional Information

The Japek II South toll road is projected to be fully completed by mid-2027. Currently, the toll road has one lane open in each direction, with only one lane available for travel during the initial functional period.
