The Rise of the Model Son

A son has choices. He can join the family business, forge his own path, or, increasingly in 2025, become a model.This career path is remarkably popular for the sons of celebrities.

Meet the model son. Following in the footsteps of their model-daughter counterparts, many are the children of ’90s Supers, Oscar winners, rock stars, adn sports legends. Vanity Fair first highlighted this trend nearly a decade ago, in 2016. Teenagers like Jaden smith, Anwar Hadid, Presley Gerber, and Rafferty Law were just beginning to break into the industry.

By 2018, Dolce & Gabbana cast eight model sons for their fall menswear show. Some have maintained their status as sought-after models, while others have pursued different interests. But the pipeline continues; for every son who steps away, several more emerge.

In 2019, W magazine also noted a related phenomenon: the rise of male model dads.
