Apple Plans Two New External Monitors

Apple plans to release two new external monitors either later this year or in early 2026, according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.

Writing in his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman said Apple is nearing mass production of the new Mac external monitors.this marks the first time the company has revisited the product category as the Apple Studio Display debuted in 2022.

The two monitors are internally code-named J427 and J527. Gurman reported in February that Apple was “ramping up” work on a new Studio Display. However, since july, he hasn’t specifically linked either code name to a new Apple Studio Display or a new Pro Display XDR.

In March, Gurman indicated that the lower-cost display (J427) is expected to be a 27-inch 4K display, while the higher-end model (J527) will be a larger, possibly mini-LED display.

Further details regarding pricing and specific features remain unknown. Apple has not officially commented on the progress of these new displays.
