Prabowo on Citizen Demands: Some Reasonable, Some Negotiable
Jakarta, CNN Indonesia — President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto states that some of the 17+8 demands voiced by citizens following demonstrations at the end of August are reasonable, while others need to be discussed further.
“yes, I think we can learn from some reasonable demands, some we can negotiate, and some we can argue. I say many of the demands make a lot of sense, many that I think are normative and we can discuss them well,” Prabowo said in Hambalang, West Java, as reported by detik.com.
Specifically, Prabowo responded positively to the call for an independent investigation team regarding the case of Affan Kurniawan (21), an online motorcycle taxi driver who was run over by police tactical vehicles.
