jakarta Protests Subside

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Protests on Friday (August 29, 2025) that turned into riots near the Jakarta Metropolitan Police have calmed down by Saturday morning (August 30, 2025). The situation is slowly returning to normal.

According to detikcom, police started moving outside the Jakarta Metropolitan Police gate on Gatot Subroto road at 3:33 AM local time. They put out fires in several areas.

Police have taken a number of protesters into custody and brought them to the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters.
