Suspicious Shooting Point Discovered Near Air force One Landing Site

The United States Secret Service discovered a suspicious shooting point with direct line of sight to Air Force One in the area where President Donald Trump lands and exits the presidential plane at Palm Beach International Airport in Florida.

The discovery triggered security alarms and launched an investigation led by the FBI, authorities confirmed to NBC News and CBS News.

The discovery occurred on Thursday, during security preparations for the president’s visit to Palm Beach to spend the weekend at his private residence in Mar-a-Lago.

According to Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi, security teams identified “items of interest” during a thorough search of the area.

A photograph released by the Secret Service shows what appears to be a camouflaged platform on top of a tree with a direct view of the landing strip and the point where Trump exits the presidential plane.

“There was no impact on any movements and there were no people present or involved on site,” Guglielmi assured in an official statement quoted by both media outlets.

The FBI is now leading the investigation to determine whether the location had any surveillance or threat-related purpose. As of now,no arrests have been reported.

Palm Beach, a Popular Spot to View Trump and Air Force One

the discovery occurred as Palm Beach prepared to welcome the president, who arrived Friday afternoon aboard Air Force One to participate in a fundraising event and is expected to return to Washington on Sunday.

During his second term, the presidential plane became a daily symbol in the sky of West Palm Beach, where dozens of curious onlookers and supporters gather every time the plane lands or takes off, using hashtags #AirForceOne and #TrumpForceOne.

Social media is filled with images and selfies taken by people from a lot near the atlantic Aviation terminal,a favorite spot for locals and visitors to get a close-up look at the president. “There is a lawn in front of the building where people tend to gather to take photos and videos,” the newspaper reported.

The habit of spectators approaching the airport to view the presidential plane, combined with the heightened concern following recent assassination attempts against Trump, has increased security concerns.
