Shiseido Appoints New Americas CEO amid Restructuring
Shiseido announced Monday the appointment of Alberto Noe as CEO of the Americas region, as the Japanese beauty giant also reshuffles its leadership amid job cuts.
Noe will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Shiseido’s business in North and South America, including brand strategy, product advancement, and sales. He brings extensive experience in the beauty industry, previously holding leadership positions at L’Oréal and Coty. Shiseido stated that Noe’s appointment is part of a broader effort to accelerate growth in the Americas and strengthen its position in the global beauty market.
The leadership changes come as Shiseido implements a restructuring plan aimed at improving profitability. The company announced earlier this month that it would be cutting approximately 5% of its global workforce and streamlining its operations. These measures are intended to address challenges such as slowing growth in China and increased competition from other beauty brands. Reuters reports that the restructuring is expected to generate cost savings of approximately ¥30 billion (approximately $200 million USD) by the end of 2026.
Shiseido’s restructuring plan also includes a focus on key brands such as Shiseido, Clé de Peau beauté, and NARS. The company plans to invest more heavily in these brands to drive growth and innovation. It will also explore opportunities to expand its presence in emerging markets.
The company hopes that these changes will position it for long-term success in a rapidly evolving beauty industry. Further details about the restructuring and Noe’s specific plans for the Americas region are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
