Bulgaria to Allow Flexible Work Options for Parents of Young Children During Summer
The National Assembly (NC) approved the first reading of a bill allowing parents of children up to 12 years old to work part-time or remotely during the summer vacation. The proposal, submitted by Denitsa Sacheva (GERB-SDS) adn a group of MPs, passed unanimously with 181 votes in favor.
Currently, Bulgaria’s Labor Code provides flexible working hour options for parents of children under eight. This amendment extends those benefits to parents (including adoptive parents) of children up to 12 years old, specifically during the summer holiday period. this change aims to help parents balance work and childcare responsibilities when schools are closed.
