Indonesia Sets 17 National Holidays for 2026

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia — The government has set 17 National holidays in 2026 through a joint Decree (SKB) of the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Empowerment of the State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform, and the Minister of Manpower.

The coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Pratikno in jakarta on Friday, said that the 17-day holiday decision had been discussed and deliberated through a ministerial meeting.

“So this process has been discussed at echelon 2 and echelon 1 levels, we have just decided on the national holidays, we refer to the applicable laws and regulations, namely for 2026, the total holiday is 17 days,” he said.

The Coordinating Minister for PMK explained the details of the 17-day national holiday, namely:

1. Thursday, January 1, 2026 to coincide with the New Year 2026 AD;
2. Friday, January 16, 2026 Coinciding with Isra ‘Mi’raj Prophet Muhammad;
3. Tuesday, Febuary 17, 2026 coincides with the Chinese new Year 2577 Kongzili;
4. Thursday, March 19, 2026 Coinciding with the holy day of Nyepi;
