Ammar Zoni‘s Drug Use in Prison: How Narcotics Entered Salemba Detention Center

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia – The Central Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office has detailed how methamphetamine and synthetic marijuana were sold to actor Ammar zoni while he was incarcerated at the Salemba Detention Center. It’s a troubling case that highlights security concerns within the prison system.

According to Fatah Chotib Uddin, Head of the Central Jakarta Public Prosecutor’s Office, ammar Zoni wasn’t acting alone. He worked with five other individuals – identified as A,AP,AM (also known as KA),ACM,and MR – to obtain and distribute the drugs. They’re all now facing legal consequences.

The examination revealed that Zoni didn’t source the narcotics from within the prison walls. Rather,he received them from a supplier outside. The methamphetamine and synthetic marijuana were then delivered to him inside Salemba Prison. It’s unclear exactly how the drugs were smuggled in, but authorities are working to close that security gap.

Prosecutors are now focused on identifying the external supplier and understanding the full extent of the drug network. They believe this case demonstrates a serious breach of security protocols and are taking steps to prevent similar incidents from happening again. It’s crucial to ensure prisons aren’t used as marketplaces for illegal substances.

Ammar zoni is currently serving a prison sentence related to a previous drug conviction. This new case will likely result in additional charges and an extended stay behind bars. Authorities haven’t released details about the quantity of drugs involved, but they’ve assured the public they’re committed to eradicating drug trafficking within correctional facilities.
