Winds Relax Tonight, Dry Weekend Ahead
Strong winds slowly drop Friday night. The weekend ahead features more sunshine with highs for Saturday and Sunday near 60 degrees.
today, many people were out and about as we look over Harrisburg. Currently, you can see clear skies, but it was windy today with winds dying down a little bit. What does the weekend look like for us? I do expect a calmer and quieter weekend ahead and fairly cozy for the first weekend of November, but those winds were whipping as we went through the day today.
Hear’s a look at some of those wind gusts: up to 44mph in Harrisburg,39mph in York, and 37mph in Lebanon. Carlisle had one of the highest wind gusts today, up to 49mph across the region. It’s still whipping outside right now at 36mph in Lebanon, 20mph in Hershey, and 23mph in Lancaster. But that’s an betterment compared to earlier today.
Drier air is moving into the valley, eroding a lot of the cloud cover. Still some clouds northwest of Harrisburg, but it should become mostly clear as the winds start to slack off closer to sunrise. Lows tonight will be in the mid to upper 40s.
Tomorrow we’ll have a light breeze out there and it is indeed going to be a nice, pleasant afternoon. It will be breezy, just the winds will not be as intense as today with winds gusting up to near 25mph. Winds will relax and it’s going to be gorgeous out there on Sunday with highs close to 60 degrees.
We made it into the upper 50s today for our highs, with 57 degrees being the high at the airport. We started the day off at 46 degrees. Temperatures have started to cool back off into the 40s and lower 50s right now – 53 degrees in hershey. But notice the winds are still sustained up to 22mph.It’s 50 degrees if you’re watching us in Lancaster, 48 in Quarryville, and 51 in New Freedom and Cashtown.
