Governors ‘Storm’ Finance MinisterS Office, Requesting No Cuts to Regional Transfers
Jakarta – Minister of Finance Purbaya yudhi Sadewa was visited by regional heads who are members of the Association of Indonesian Provincial Governments (APPSI). It was recorded that 18 governors were present in person, 15 regions were represented and 5 regions were not present.
The Governor of North Maluku (Malut) Sherly Tjoanda said she came to reject the cuts in transfers to regions (TKD) made by the Ministry of Finance in 2026.These cuts were said to be very burdensome.
“Earlier, each of us governors have voiced our opinions to the Minister of Finance for consideration, because with the existing central transfer fund planning to regions ther is only enough for routine spending. Spending on infrastructure, roads and bridges has decreased so we are asking for no cuts,” said Sherly at the Ministry of Finance, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (7/10/2025).

Sherly admitted that North Maluku Province received TKD of IDR 6.7 trillion in 2026, down from the 2025 ceiling of IDR 10 trillion. The biggest deduction is in the Profit Sharing Fund (DBH) component.
