Malaysia Closes Kuala Lumpur Airspace for Six Days for Independence Day

Kuala Lumpur – Malaysian authorities will close the airspace around Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) for six days starting Tuesday (8/26) tomorrow. This closure coincides with the celebration of Malaysia’s 68th independence day, which is commemorated on August 31.

the airspace around the KLIA complex will be temporarily closed from August 26 to august 31, a period of six days, as reported by Malay Mail and New Straits Times on Monday (8/25/2025).

The closure of the airspace around KLIA will occur daily from 08:00 local time until 12:00 local time during the six-day period.
