Indonesia Unveils Key Elements for Smart City Development
JAKARTA, INDONESIA – Indonesia has shared its roadmap for smart city development, emphasizing three core elements for creating inclusive, sustainable, and technology-driven urban environments.
Amran, Indonesia’s National Representative of the ASEAN Smart City Network, highlighted these key elements during the ASEAN-Japan Smart Cities Network High-Level Meeting held in Tokyo:
Inclusive and Culturally-Aware Livable Cities
This element focuses on creating cities that are accessible and welcoming to all, respecting cultural diversity and promoting a high quality of life.
Resilient Green Cities:
Indonesia aims to build cities that are environmentally friendly, promote sustainable practices, and can withstand various challenges like climate change and natural disasters. Public safety and community security are also prioritized within this framework.
Digital-Based Government Services:
Implementing digital technologies to streamline government services and improve access for citizens will be crucial in enhancing community welfare and efficiency.
Amran emphasized that these principles align with the Indonesian Government Regulation Number 59 of 2022 concerning Urban Areas and the SNI ISO 37122 concerning Smart Cities.
He underscored the importance of collaboration with ASEAN member countries and international partners, including Japan, in driving innovation and technology adoption for smart city development.
