Parents of Al Izzah SDIT Students Reject Free Nutritious Meal program, Serang Mayor Responds

The guardians of Al Izzah Integrated Islamic Elementary School students in Serang City, Banten, reject thier children receiving food from the eat Nutritious Free (MBG) program and reject the kitchen of the Nutrition Services Fulfillment Unit (SPPG) within the school grounds. The Serang City Government has responded.

Reported by Between on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, representatives of the al Izzah SDIT student guardians in Serang City, Baim Aji, stated they object to the continued distribution of MBG to SDIT Al Izzah students. He argues that many other school children in Serang City need the program more than students at SDIT Al Izzah, whose parents are financially capable of covering educational expenses.

“We have paid for educational growth contributions (SPP) and the entrance fee is quite substantial, reaching tens of millions [of Rupiah]. If we are able to finance it, why should MBG be provided at the school?” he said after a meeting with the Serang City Government.
