Czech New Car Registrations Surge, Led by Škoda and Rising Chinese Brands

Last month saw the highest number of passenger car registrations in the Czech market as August 2019.A total of 23,298 new cars were registered, according to data from the Car Importers Association (SDA), nearing the 25,026 registrations recorded in August 2019.

With 205,735 new cars registered in the first ten months of this year, total registrations for 2025 are projected to exceed 240,000 – a level not seen since before the global coronavirus pandemic disrupted sales.

Škoda continues to dominate the market, registering 8,731 cars and achieving a 37.48% market share. This represents a notable advancement of 665 cars compared to October 2024. Notably, Mercedes-Benz also saw a similar increase in registrations during the same period.

## Czech New Car Registrations: Škoda Dominates October 2025

Škoda led the way in new car registrations in the Czech Republic for October 2025, with a total of 8,731 units – an increase of 665 compared to the previous year. Hyundai followed in second place with 1,615 registrations, though the Korean brand experienced a decrease of 181 units. Dacia also performed well, increasing sales by 379 cars, with its Bigster SUV model achieving 345 registrations, securing 14th place overall. Renault saw a boost of 300 cars, and Cupra experienced a significant increase of 343 cars. Citroën also climbed in registrations with a gain of 295 cars,while Chinese brand Jaecoo reached 20th place with 228 units sold.

looking at individual models, Škoda cars, spearheaded by the Octavia, held the first seven positions. Notably, both Škoda electric SUVs – the Elroq and Enyaq – featured within the top twenty, with the newer Elroq model likely impacting sales of the larger Enyaq, which saw a decrease of 180 registrations.
