Garlasco (Pavia), 2 November 2025 – moves and countermoves. The lawyer Domenico Aiello, defender of Mario Venditti, former deputy prosecutor of Pavia, under examination for the hypothesis of corruption in judicial documents.

In the new investigation the former prosecutor is accused of having taken money (20 or 30 thousand euros) to facilitate archiving in 2017 by Andrea Sempio, then and still today under investigation for the murder of Chiara Poggi in Garlasco on 13 August 2007.

Forensic Examination of Ash Set for Monday

The forensic examination of Ash, the young woman found lifeless in the Po River, was scheduled to take place starting Monday afternoon, November 3rd, in the laboratory of the consultant appointed by the Prosecutor’s Office in Pinerolo (Turin). The operation will be conducted in the presence of consultants representing all parties involved.

Appeals Court to Review Seizures, Including Devices of Giuseppe Spoto

Appeals are being heard by the Court of Review regarding seizure measures, with the Prosecutor’s Office holding PCs and phones belonging to the suspects, including Giuseppe Spoto.

A previous appeal to the Review Court resulted in a partial annulment, but this was subsequently nullified by two further seizure orders (also subject to appeal), one of which is scheduled for discussion tomorrow morning, Monday, November 3rd.

The “Pavia system”

This represents the second seizure targeting both venditti and prosecutor Pietro Paolo Mazza, who are under investigation for corruption and embezzlement in a separate investigation led by the Brescia prosecutor’s office. this investigation centers on the “Pavia system,” which emerged from the “Clean” investigations conducted by the Pavia Prosecutor’s Office (with relevant cases transferred to Brescia due to jurisdictional concerns regarding the magistrates involved).
