This action comes after China’s Ministry of foreign Affairs expressed strong dissatisfaction with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida‘s remarks about Taiwan during a recent security forum. Kishida stated that any attempt to change the status quo in the Taiwan strait by force would be a major issue for Japan, and that Japan would work with the United States and other countries to prevent such a scenario.

China views Taiwan as a breakaway province and has repeatedly warned against any interference in what it considers its internal affairs. The Chinese government has accused Japan of interfering in China’s sovereignty and has urged Japan to refrain from making irresponsible statements.

The Hong Kong government’s travel advisory is a reflection of the escalating tensions between Beijing and Tokyo and the potential risks faced by Chinese citizens in Japan. The advisory underscores the importance of vigilance and awareness for those traveling to or residing in Japan during this period.
