Netanyahu-Spanish PM Feud Escalates

Jakarta – Tensions between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez are heating up. Recently, Netanyahu accused sanchez of making a “threat of genocide” against Tel Aviv, sparking a strong reaction from Madrid.

“I don’t think Netanyahu is in a position to lecture anyone while carrying out the atrocities he’s committing in gaza,” said Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles in an interview with local television station Antenna 3, as reported by AFP on saturday (September 13, 2025).

Robles’s comments came in response to Netanyahu’s latest statement on social media platform X,where he accused Sanchez of threatening Israel. This is the latest in a series of disputes between the two countries that began earlier this week.
