Finance Minister Rejects ‘Payment’ Label After SOE Complaints
Jakarta, CNN Indonesia — Minister of Finance Purbaya yudhi Sadewa rejected the label of being a mere ‘payment’ dispenser, following complaints from a number of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) to the House of Representatives Commission XI.
Purbaya stated that SOE leaders should directly address issues themselves, rather than lodging complaints with the DPR. He firmly rejected being perceived solely as a facilitator of payments for soes.
“I am not just a payment. I will review whether the proposed projects are being implemented. If not, we will cut the funds. I am the supervisor; I am simply stepping into the President’s role,” Purbaya stated during a working meeting with the House of Representatives Commission XI in Central Jakarta, Tuesday (30/9).
