Trump appreciated the meeting with Putin on “10 out of 10”
The head of the United States hinted that he is currently not planning to impose new sanctions or any other tough measures against Russia.
US President Donald Trump evaluates the meeting with the Russian ruler Vladimir Putin as high as possible – at 10 out of 10 thanks to the “achieved mutual understanding” and allowed the deposition of the imposition of new sanctions against Russia. He is about this declared during an interview for Fox News.
Trump considers the summit successful, although specific agreements were not signed. According to him, the dialogue between the two nuclear powers is a key point.
“So I think that the meeting was 10 in the sense that we perfectly understood each other. And it is good when, you know, two large powers get along, especially when they are nuclear powers. You know, we are number one, they are number two in the world. And this is a big thing. This is a big thing.”
Trump also hinted that he is currently not planning to impose new sanctions or any other tough measures against Russia. The corresponding decision, in his opinion, can be revised later, but now this is not necessary.
“Due to what happened today, I think that I do not need to think about it now. Perhaps I will have to think about it in two weeks or three weeks, but we do not need to think about it now.”
Recall that the media informed that the United States is considering the introduction of sanctions against Russian oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil. This step was considered as part of a wider complex of measures aimed at encouraging Russian President Vladimir Putin to conclude a truce with Ukraine.
As you know, the meeting of US President Donald Trump and the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin ended without reaching agreements and announcing a ceasefire in Ukraine, despite the statements of “significant progress”.
