Arla Foods Sets New Standard for Dairy Success: Record Payouts, Environmental Progress, and Brand Strength

Arla Foods concluded 2024 with a resounding financial triumph, underscoring its commitment to both farmer profitability and sustainability. The cooperative surprised its 8,000 dairy farmer members with a record-breaking supplementary payment of €2.20 per kilogram of milk supplied, totaling €292 million – a significant jump from €2.07 per kilogram (€270 million) in 2023. Arla Nederland, in particular, saw its turnover increase by 1.6 percent to €407 million, while brand strength surged by 5.4 percent, pushing its market share to 11.5 percent in 2024. Sustainability at the Core

Arla’s unwavering commitment to reducing the environmental impact of milk production continues to bear fruit. Furthermore, absolute CO2E emissions from milk production decreased by 3 percent compared to 2023, representing a reduction of 415,000 tons of CO2E. While acknowledged that purchasing external meadow for its ingredient company only led to a modest decrease in scope 3 emissions compared to 2023, Arla remains dedicated to continuous improvement and exploring innovative solutions to further minimize its environmental footprint.
