Japan’s Defense Ministry stated that a Chinese J-15 military aircraft took off from China’s aircraft carrier liaoning near the East China Sea. It then approached Japanese fighter jets and activated its radar, wich is considered a dangerous move.
Australia expressed concern over the incident and urged all parties to exercise restraint. They emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region.
China’s Ministry of National Defense responded by saying Japan’s accusations are untrue and that Japanese fighter jets have been harassing Chinese aircraft. They accused Japan of deliberately spreading misinformation and creating tension.
“the Japanese side has repeatedly made provocative remarks and spread false facts about the Chinese military, which is irresponsible and unconstructive,” a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense stated.
This incident adds to the growing tensions between China and Japan, particularly over the disputed Senkaku/Diaoyu islands in the East China Sea. Both countries have been increasing their military presence in the area, raising concerns about potential conflicts.
