Military Colonel Inaugurated as President of Madagascar after Impeachment

Antananarivo – Military colonel Michael Randrianirina officially inaugurated as President Madagascar on Friday, October 17, 2025, local time, just days after the military’s seizure of power forced former President Andry Rajoelina to flee abroad.

Randrianirina, as reported by AFP on Friday, October 17, 2025, was the leader of the CAPSAT military unit wich rebelled and joined anti-government demonstrators last weekend.
