Ukrainian Capital Attacked by Russian Missiles

Capital Ukraine, Kyiv, was attacked “massively” with Russian missile on Thursday (12/2) morning local time, with various buildings affected by the attack.

“The massive attack on the capital is still ongoing,” Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram, reported by the news agency Reuters And Al ArabiyaThursday (12/2/2026).

Klitschko said there had been attacks on residential and non-residential buildings on both sides of the Dnipro River which divides the city.

Missile fragments fell near two residential buildings in one district, but no fires and no casualties were reported.

An emergency medical team has been dispatched.

Tymur Tkachenko, head of military administration capital of Ukraine said at least one attack was recorded in Kyiv’s eastern suburbs.

Reuters witnesses heard explosions echoing in the city.

The city of Dnipro in southeastern Ukraine was also attacked, the local governor, Oleksandr Ganzha, wrote on Telegram. Several private homes and cars were damaged, but there was no indication of any casualties.

An air raid warning remained in effect for Kyiv and Dnipro until well after midnight local time.

Previously, Ukrainian air strikes hit an oil refinery in Volgograd, Russia, on Wednesday (11/2) evening local time, and started a fire, according to a post by the Ukrainian military on Facebook. Ukraine’s military spokesman for the southern region, Vladyslav Voloshyn, told the Ukrinform news agency that Ukrainian forces were still in control of Zaliznychne in the Zaporizhia frontline region, although Russia claimed to have occupied the settlement.

A Ukrainian attack in Russia’s Belgorod region killed one civilian and wounded at least seven others, according to local officials quoted by Russian news agency TASS. The Ukrainian attacks also damaged water infrastructure, causing water supplies to be cut off in several villages in the Borisovsky and Rakityansky districts of Belgorod, which are located near Russia’s border with Ukraine. This is according to information from the regional water company in a post on Telegram.
